ABOUT ME

A mere stripling boy, I went forth from the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in 1977. Thenceforward, I earned a crust as a lowly schoolmaster teaching Speech and Drama and Theatre Studies, until a day came in 1991 when, my attention briefly distracted, I was cruelly press-ganged by the BBC. My very soul thus owned, I endured 22 years working under conditions of gruelling air conditioning, forced day after day to announce, read news, narrate and occasionally play the character across both television and radio. Yes, I even had to read the Shipping Forecast. No mercy was shown. Moreover, I was forbidden all contact with the outside world.

In early 2013, after 22 years of ruthless indenture, I made my escape one afternoon and have not stopped running since.

Henceforth, my voice has wandered the five continents, living off crumbs from television, radio and on-line ads, in-house training videos and e-learning courses dropped by kindly clients. I have made jest with my voice to the satisfaction of Gamers of all tribes, Online, Retail and Mobile, become skilled in the manly arts of Performance Capture and in ADR, and have regaled those who gather to listen by the embers of a flickering Audiobook with a fresh tale every month.
